Just in case we'll not all die because of a zombie invasion in the next few years.. We might need to think about how to feed everyone when oil gets more expensive (like almost everything we do and have today, our agricultural system is very dependent on oil). You might not want to think about this, since it seems like another message of impending doom where there is nothing you can do about it.
I'm rather fascinated by this question: How can we make sure we have something to eat and a place to live, without trashing the earth like we do now? How can we live in the future with all the problems our todays way of living has caused? Well, we just continue the way we do now, with some small adjustments to wipe up the mess?
I don't think so.
You might not believe me, but I think we can't live the way we do now and I think it is VERY GOOD NEWS.
I recently saw a BBC documentary called 'A farm for the future'. I really recommend you watch it, since (a.) it's just very interesting and (b.) it shows that change can look hell of a lot like heaven.

Living: how to do it
In the first week of july we will have our graduation exhibition. (You are all invited.) This makes for a lot of stress and worrying. Will my work be good enough? How can I finish everything in time? What will I do afterwards? How will I make money?
Today I read a blog post by Atalwin Pilon, the man from 'Basic Goodness'. I'm going to link it on here, because it is simple and important. He was talking about how we stress so much about the meaning of life and what to do with it, we have so many troubles and fears that we forget to actually live. Go on, read it!
So I decided I would do some living today. There is a beautiful park near where I live. I never go there, because it doesn't seem useful to me, I have lots of things to do. (Can you see how stupid that is?)
This morning I didn't do anything 'useful' (or did I?) I went for a stroll trough the park for some breathing, watching and thinking.

Announcement!
I am happy to announce I finally have my official website!
It took some trying to get a site that looked like 'me', but I am very pleased with the way it looks now. And it is hosted on green energy too! I thought it was important to do that. I write about trying to live responsibly and how we depend on nature.. Even though I am not a big company, I should make sure I do my things in a green manner. :)
For anyone thinking about putting a website online, Cleanbits has a list of providers that use green energy. Find it here.
To see my fresh sparkling new website, go to dorienruben.nl.

On twos and threes..
Yesterday I cycled home from working (yes, on a sunday). I saw a lot of threes. It was 3 degrees celcius and the time was 3 minutes past one.
Then there were a lot of twos, that were, secretly, still threes.
I saw two poles, with one more hidden behind them. Three traffic lights with two lights on top of each other. Three of the same billboards, and then two more. One, and then two more turns (makes three). More poles and plants all in groups of three. A statue pointed to it. It was his joke.
Our local gas station wasn't in on it. They had no threes and no twos either. They did have ones and fours, but those are not proper.
I drove over two bumps in the road. Then another one.
